FBI investigating Worcester Fire Fighter after Worcester Firefighter Fired on Helicopter

The FBI is investigating Worcester firefighter Daniel “Jake” Nunez after he fired on a helicopter during a drill at the Worcester Fire Department on Thursday.

The Worcester Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a call for help about a person on the ground who had been hit by a car on Route 1 and was bleeding heavily, the Worcester City Manager’s Office said in a statement.

“Nunez fired on the helicopter as it approached the scene, striking the helicopter several times,” the statement said.

Nuney is scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. “

Nuney is scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m.

Thursday for arraignment.

The police department is asking anyone with information to contact the Worcester Metropolitan Police Department Detective Division at (617) 575-0405.

Nuneys arraignment is expected to take place at 2 p.c. Thursday.
